Remove

  • Prepare your home by removing wall decor, knick-knacks, small tables or chairs, and anything fragile or valuable. We’ll take care of the big stuff so you don’t need to worry.

  • We’ll take care of clean-up, removing all popcorn, plastic, tape and any other elements of the popcorn removal process from your home in nicely contained bundles.

Replace

  • Knockdown texture imparts a rustic look which resembles stucco, making it great for adding depth to a room and concealing imperfections in a ceiling.

  • Similar to knockdown, but with a finer grain, making it a bit smoother while still adding depth and texture

  • A soft, slightly bumpy design that is subtle and smoother than knockdown, adds a touch of texture with a modern feel

Finish

  • We’ll smooth out any rough edges by scraping excess texture where walls join with the ceiling.

  • We apply a thin bead of caulk to edges to give the home a new-construction look and feel.

  • We apply stain-blocker generously, leaving a pleasant, resilient, and clean white texture that will last.

Prep & procedure

Step 1:

We start by taping the edges of the walls where they meet the ceiling and attach the wall plastic, draping as we go. Simultaneously, other crew members will be running a thick 3 mil plastic on your floors. When your home is contained we begin removal of fan blades, AC vents, drop lighting, most smoke detectors, as well as any other exposed fixtures.

Step 2:

With the AC off, we start applying a light mist to your ceilings. Once the water is absorbed we scrape the wet popcorn from your ceilings, methodically, as not to damage any seam tape or drywall. Sometimes another light mist is required to make sure we are only left with bare drywall and joint mud. The more cautious we are on the front end, the less touch up we have to do before the ceilings are textured.

As texture commonly takes 1 to 2 days to dry before we return to paint, (depending on the time of year, weather outside, and condition of the A.C.) we ask you please leave your home exactly the same until the process is complete.

finishing Touches

Step 3:

All of the plastic is taken down, and the popcorn is rolled into bundles that we carefully discard. We will then start by scraping the extra texture from the edges of the walls where they join with the ceiling. Next we apply a thin bead of caulk to the edges to give it a new construction look. While the caulk is drying, we clean and paint your AC vents as needed or requested.

Step 4: This step is absolutely crucial!

Stain-blocker is generously applied to the ceiling to prevent any bleeding from previous stains or yellowing due to moisture content. Our specially tinted stain-blocker dries to a beautiful flat white, leaving your ceilings looking up to date. After that, it is time for us to reinstall your fan blades, hang your freshly painted vents, and secure any lighting left attached and securely hanging during the process.

In closing, our crew commences a thorough, final clean up, and our leader walks you through the home to make sure you are completely satisfied with your new ceilings.
