Popcorn Removal Process | Preparation and Protection
One of the absolute most important steps in the Popcorn Removal Process is the prep and protection of your home. This ensures a dust free job and a swift clean up. A good bit of our day is spent prepping and getting ready to remove your popcorn. Many customers are shocked at how long it actually takes to get their home ready. There are also a few things you need to do before we even arrive. The list can be rather short for vacant homes, but as an occupied home-owner, here are the things we need you to do before our team arrives on day one.
remove all belongings and breakables off the walls and flat surfaces
remove all small tables, chairs, vases, plants, lamps, breakables, etc. off the floor
remove all pets and other valuables from the work area
make sure A.C. is running properly
make sure water and electrical are turned on
leave us the big stuff and we’ll take it from there
Our team will arrive promptly on our scheduled date to begin their preparations on your home once you have it ready for us. We begin with a friendly greeting and after our cheerful hello’s we begin our home protection. Our process is as follows:
tape all seams where the walls meet the ceiling
connect wall plastic and drape
tape edges of the floors where they meet the walls and attach our floor plastic
remove fan blades and A.C. vents (dropping fan caps and taping screws to both)
cover fan motors
loosen light fixtures where possible and safely contain (some fixtures will be taken all the way down for safety reasons)
detach smoke detectors from ceiling, cover and let hang
cover all remaining furniture and belongings
turn A.C. off
No Popcorn Removal Expert should ever expect you to handle any of the ceiling prep. We certainly don’t. Preparation promotes perfection and the time spent on the front end certainly speeds things up on the back end. A dust free removal and clean up is always a breeze when your house is protected properly by trained professionals.
